Associate Professor Stephanie George brings experience in virtual social work learning platforms, national leadership with Veterans and collaborative team development in organizational change and leadership to GSSW. Her practice has included work with Veterans experiencing homelessness, trauma and neurosurgery hospital social work with adults and pediatrics as well as experience in Hospice and HIV/AIDS clinics. For the last 10 years, George has specialized in national program development, administration, and virtual education at both the federal government and academic settings. Prior to joining GSSW in March 2019, George served as a director of virtual field education for seven years at another school of social work, where she managed students and faculty spanning the nation. George also received her Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership and Change in 2018, with her dissertation focusing on Homeless Education delivery in MSW programs. She is dedicated to building strong and supportive virtual educational programs with MSW students and faculty.
What I do
Bringing MSW students together on a virtual platform while remaining in their home communities allows for incredible engagement with a national perspective within the classroom. I am passionate about growing social work practice in underserved communities areas to all 50 states.
