SOWK 4655 Mental Health and Health Care Policy (3 credits)

This course provides an overview of social policy and service delivery issues in mental health and health care, with emphasis on achieving quality and addressing disparities. It includes a critical review of United States’ historic and developing policy issues, as well as mental health and health care financing and delivery systems and other key issues in the field. Students will participate in critical analysis of issues and will examine various proposals to improve mental health and health care policy and programs. Prerequisite: SOWK 4120 Social Policy Analysis, Advocacy and Practice.
